Open the boxing glove customizer, choose your weight and material, then colour each panel and add any text or artwork before adding the design to your cart. The whole design is built in the 3D customizer - there is no separate form to fill in.
Boxing gloves have eight separately colourable zones: inner and outer palm, inner and outer thumb, fingers, wrist, strap and outline. Each zone also takes a normal, matte or metallic finish. Text and uploaded artwork can be placed on the outer palm, outer thumb and wrist.
Yes. You can add text, upload your own logo or artwork, and place symbols from a built-in library on the printable areas of the glove. On boxing gloves those areas are the outer palm, the outer thumb and the wrist.
Each text item has its own font, colour, size, position and rotation, so a name on the outer palm and a gym name on the wrist are set up independently. Text and colour are included in the product price; uploaded images and symbols are add-ons, and the running total updates in the customizer as you add them.
Choose your glove weight according to your training activity, body weight and your coach or gym's requirements. For general adult training, 12 oz gloves are commonly used, while 14 oz and 16 oz gloves are often selected for sparring.
KCG Boxing gloves are made in 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16 oz. If you are buying a single pair to cover everything, 16 oz is the most widely accepted choice, because gyms that set a minimum sparring weight usually set it there and the same glove still works on a bag.
| Glove weight | Common use | Important note |
|---|---|---|
| 8-10 oz | Pads, speed work or competition where permitted | Check competition rules |
| 12 oz | General training and bag work | Common versatile option |
| 14 oz | Training, bag work and lighter sparring | Gym approval may be required |
| 16 oz | Sparring and heavier training | Common sparring option |
These are general guidelines. Always follow the rules of your gym, coach or competition.
No. Glove weight in ounces describes how much padding the glove contains, while size describes the internal fit around your hand and hand wraps. They are related but they are not the same measurement.
Gloves across a weight range are commonly built on a comparable hand compartment, so moving from 12 oz to 16 oz makes the glove larger and heavier on the outside without necessarily giving your fingers more room. If a glove feels wrong on your hand rather than wrong for your session, weight is not the setting to change.
Boxing gloves should feel snug with hand wraps on, without causing pain, numbness or restricted circulation. Your fingertips should reach the end of the compartment without pressing hard into it, and your hand should not slide forward when you punch.
Always judge fit with the hand wraps you actually train in, because wraps take up real space inside the glove. Numbness or tingling during a round means the glove is too small or fastened too tightly - that is not a break-in period, and the padding softening with use will not create more room for your hand.
Boxing gloves enclose the fingers and provide more padding around the fist. MMA gloves leave the fingers open so athletes can strike, grip and grapple.
That difference decides where each one is used. Boxing gloves carry enough padding for sustained bag work and sparring, and are used for striking in boxing and MMA gyms alike. MMA gloves keep the hand functional for clinching and ground work, with a compact pad over the knuckles rather than a fully enclosed fist.
| Feature | Boxing gloves | MMA gloves |
|---|---|---|
| Fingers | Enclosed | Open |
| Padding | Greater fist coverage | More compact padding |
| Grappling | Not designed for gripping | Designed to allow gripping |
| Main use | Boxing and striking training | Mixed martial arts |
| Typical training | Bag work, pads, sparring | MMA striking and grappling |
Not for heavy bag volume or sparring. MMA gloves carry far less padding than boxing gloves, leave the fingers exposed and give less wrist support, so sustained boxing work in them increases the risk of hand and wrist injury.
They are suitable for light technical drills and for the grappling-integrated parts of a session. For bag rounds, pad work and any sparring, use boxing gloves. Most MMA gyms split a session exactly this way.
Check with your federation, promoter or coach before entering any competition with KCG Boxing gloves. Competition equipment rules are set by the sanctioning body, and KCG Boxing has not published a competition approval for any model.
Requirements vary between organisations and levels, and can cover glove weight, closure type, approved models, glove condition and pre-bout inspection. Some events supply the gloves and do not permit your own. Until an approval is confirmed, treat KCG gloves as training and sparring equipment.
The material options for each product are listed in the customizer under Size & Material, together with any price difference, before you add the design to your cart. Material availability is set per product, so it is shown on the product itself rather than as one site-wide list.
If a specific material property matters to your decision - durability, weight, or how it handles humidity - contact the team before ordering and they will confirm what applies to the model you are looking at.
No. The 3D preview accurately represents your design - the zones you coloured, the text you entered and the artwork you placed - but it is not a photograph of the finished product. Screen colours vary between devices, and material texture, finish and stitching will not render exactly as they appear in production.
Use the preview to check layout, zone assignment, artwork placement and spelling, all of which it shows reliably. If exact colour matching matters, for a team kit or a sponsor's brand colour, contact the team before ordering.
Upload a PNG or JPG file up to 5 MB, cropped tight to the artwork, at the highest resolution you have. A PNG with a transparent background gives the cleanest result, because the artwork sits directly on the panel colour instead of inside a visible rectangle.
Images wider or taller than 2048 px are resized during upload, and files over 1 MB are compressed, so artwork close to those limits gives the most predictable output. Avoid very thin lines and small lettering - they lose definition at glove scale. Low-resolution artwork prints exactly as soft as it looks on screen, and that cannot be improved once production starts.
Yes, within 24 hours of placing your order. After that, production has started and the design is locked, because every item is made to your specification rather than taken from stock.
Contact the team with your order number as early as possible - the sooner you write, the more can still be changed. This applies to the design, the text, the colours and the size or weight.
Production begins once your order is confirmed, and the total time is production plus shipping to your country. For a current lead time on the product you are ordering, contact the team before you place the order - they will confirm what applies to that item.
Custom items are not held in stock: each one is cut, printed and assembled to your design after you order, which is why the timeline depends on the product and the current order volume.
Wipe your gloves after every training session and allow them to dry completely in a ventilated area. Never leave wet gloves sealed inside a sports bag, and never put boxing gloves in a washing machine.
Odour comes from moisture held in the lining, so drying is the actual fix rather than any cleaning product. Wash your hand wraps after every session too - putting unwashed wraps back into clean gloves undoes the cleaning immediately.
Contact the team as soon as possible with your order number, photographs of the item and a short description of the problem. Damaged, defective or incorrect items are handled regardless of whether the product was customized.
Custom items are made to your design, so they cannot normally be returned or exchanged for a change of mind, a size choice or a design decision. A production defect or an error on our side is a different matter and is covered. Where a refund is approved, it is returned to the original payment method where possible.
