Who is this product for?
MMA training, where the hand has to stay usable. An open palm lets you grip a wrist, frame, underhook, post a hand on the mat and defend a takedown - none of which are possible in a closed boxing glove.
They are not a boxing glove substitute. The padding is far more compact and the wrist support is lower, so sustained bag volume and striking sparring should be done in boxing gloves. Most MMA gyms split a session between the two.
Materials and construction
This is an open-fingered glove with a shell pad over the knuckles, separate finger openings, an open palm and a hook-and-loop wrist strap. The material options available appear in the customizer under Size & Material.
Outer material, knuckle pad construction and lining material have not been published for this model. Contact the team if a specific property affects your decision.
Available sizes
Select the size in the customizer under Size & Material. MMA gloves should fit snugly with almost no movement on the hand, because a glove that rotates when you close a grip puts strain on the thumb.
They are normally worn with short wraps or gel wraps rather than full-length wraps, which add too much bulk for an open-palm glove.
The weight options shown for this product are currently the boxing set and are under review. If glove weight matters for your training or your event, confirm with the team before ordering.
Customization options
With eleven separately colourable zones this is the most detailed product in the range. The strap group alone splits into four parts - strap, front strap, fingers strap and two outlines - which is where most of the visual definition comes from.
- Colour: eleven zones set independently, including the four strap parts.
- Finish: normal, matte or metallic, chosen per zone.
- Text: back of hand, knuckle cap or strap.
- Images: PNG or JPG up to 5 MB on any printable area.
- Symbols: a built-in library, positioned and scaled where you want.
The back of the hand is the surface a camera sees when your hands are up, which makes it the most effective place for a name or a gym mark.
How to choose the right option
- Confirm you need an open-fingered glove - if your session is striking only, boxing gloves protect better.
- Choose a snug size; a loose MMA glove rotates on the hand under grip.
- Plan for short wraps or gel wraps rather than full-length wraps.
- Use two colours plus one accent, and spend the accent on the strap group.
- Rotate the 3D model and check all eleven zones before adding to cart.
The 3D preview shows your design, not a photograph of the finished glove. Use it to confirm zone assignment, artwork placement and spelling.
Care instructions
Wipe the inside after every session and air-dry the gloves open, out of your bag. An open palm means they dry faster than boxing gloves, but they also take sweat directly from the hand, so the wipe-down still matters.
- Wipe the inner face and the palm area with a dry cloth after training.
- Air-dry away from direct heat.
- Never machine-wash or soak padded gloves.
- Wash short wraps or gel wraps after every session.
Specific detergents, sprays and cleaning products have not been confirmed as safe for this product. Check with the team before using anything beyond a cold wash.
Production and delivery
Nothing is held in stock. Each pair is cut, printed and assembled to the design you submit, and production begins once your order is confirmed. The design and size can be changed within 24 hours of ordering; after that, production has started and the specification is locked.
KCG Boxing ships internationally. Delivery cost and time depend on the destination. Customs duties and import taxes on international orders are the customer's responsibility unless stated otherwise.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between these and boxing gloves?
These leave the fingers open so you can grip and grapple; boxing gloves enclose the fingers and carry much more padding around the fist. Boxing gloves suit sustained striking, and MMA gloves suit anything needing an open hand.
If you train MMA you will use both in the same session - boxing gloves for striking rounds, these for clinch and ground work.
How should MMA gloves fit?
Snugly, with almost no movement on the hand. A glove that rotates when you close a grip strains the thumb, which is the most common MMA glove injury.
Wear them with short wraps or gel wraps. Full-length cotton wraps add too much bulk for an open-palm glove.
Can I use these on a heavy bag?
Only for short technical rounds. The knuckle pad is far more compact than a boxing glove’s padding, and sustained bag volume in an MMA glove is a common route to hand injury.
Use boxing gloves for full bag sessions.
