Custom Laced Boxing Gloves

Create personalized lace-up boxing gloves in the KCG Boxing 3D customizer, in weights from 8 oz to 16 oz. A lace-up closure wraps the wrist along its whole length, which is why it remains the traditional closure for competition in boxing.

Who is this product for?

Laces tighten evenly from the cuff upward, so they hold the wrist more consistently than a strap and leave a cleaner line at the cuff. That combination is why fight-night gloves in boxing are almost always laced.

They are less practical for everyday training, because you cannot tie them properly on your own. If you arrive at the gym alone and change gloves between bag and sparring rounds, the hook-and-loop model is the more usable choice.

A lace-up closure does not make a glove competition-legal. Approved models, weights and closures are set by the sanctioning body - confirm before entering an event.

Materials and construction

The material options for this product appear in the customizer under Size & Material, with any price difference shown before you add the design to your cart.

Outer material specification, padding construction and lining material have not been published for this model. Contact the team if one of these affects your decision.

Available weights

This model is available in 8 oz, 10 oz, 12 oz, 14 oz and 16 oz. Laced gloves are most often ordered in the lighter competition weights, but the full range is offered.

Weight should be chosen from your activity, body weight and your gym or coach’s requirements. Gyms that set a minimum sparring weight usually set it at 16 oz.

Customization options

The laces are one of the eight separately colourable zones on this model, which no other product in the range offers. Contrasting laces are the fastest way to make a design read from a distance.

  • Colour: inner palm, outer palm, inner thumb, outer thumb, fingers, wrist, outline and laces, set separately.
  • Finish: normal, matte or metallic, chosen per zone.
  • Text: outer palm, outer thumb or wrist, each with its own font, colour, size, position and rotation.
  • Images: PNG or JPG up to 5 MB on any printable area.
  • Symbols: a built-in library, positioned and scaled where you want.

Colour and text are included in the product price. Uploaded images, symbols and matte or metallic finishes are add-ons, and the total updates as you add them.

How to choose the right option

  1. Confirm you have someone to lace you up at training or at an event.
  2. Choose the weight from your activity and your gym’s sparring rule.
  3. Size the glove around the hand wraps you actually use.
  4. Pick a base colour, a secondary colour and one accent - then use the accent on the laces or the outline.
  5. Rotate the 3D model and check all eight zones, including the laces, before adding to cart.

The 3D preview represents your design rather than photographing the finished product. Screen colours vary, and material texture and stitching will not render exactly as produced.

Care instructions

Untie and open laced gloves fully after every session. Left tied, they hold moisture inside far longer than a strap glove, and that is what causes both odour and early lining wear.

  1. Unlace the gloves completely and open the cuff.
  2. Wipe away surface moisture inside and out.
  3. Air-dry away from direct heat until the lining is dry throughout.
  4. Wash hand wraps separately after every session.
  5. Store only when fully dry, with the laces loose.

Do not machine-wash or soak boxing gloves. Cleaning products beyond water and a mild soap have not been confirmed as safe for this product.

Frequently asked questions

Why choose laces over a hook-and-loop strap?

Laces tighten evenly along the full length of the cuff, so the wrist is held more consistently than with a single strap. It is the traditional competition closure in boxing for that reason.

The trade-off is practical: you need a second person to tie and untie them, which makes them slower to use in a normal training session.

Can I put laced gloves on by myself?

Not properly. You can get your hand in, but you cannot pull the laces to tension and tie them off one-handed, which means you lose the wrist support the closure exists to provide.

If you usually train alone, choose the hook-and-loop model instead.

Are these approved for competition?

No competition approval has been published for this model. Confirm requirements with your federation, promoter or coach before entering an event with them.

Rules differ between organisations and levels, and some events supply gloves and do not permit your own.
